Water |
Newly Planted – Give your trees the water they need.As it grows, the orange tree usually requires an average 1.5 inches of water each week. |
Light |
The light for a citrus tree is very important. Your indoor orange tree needs at least five or six hours of direct sunlight a day. A south-facing window is a sweet spot when growing citrus indoors. |
Fertilizer |
Orange trees prefer a balanced fertilizer (or one slightly higher in nitrogen) that contains nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium as well as the micronutrients iron, manganese and zinc for optimum growth. |
Pruning |
There is no need to prune to thin out fruit unless there is just an overabundance. Pruning potted oranges is usually not necessary either, as the size of their container usually keeps their growth in check. |
