PLANTING & CARE
- Temperature – between 20⁰ to 25⁰C is perfect for the growth of chilli.
- Water – Newly Planted – Watering chili plants properly. Most chili plants die because they are not watered properly. If this is done carefully, the root ball will not dry out.
- Light – They will grow in partial shade, but they won’t be as productive. A sunny spot is best. I have very successfully grown many varieties of chili peppers under my backyard deck, which is about 12 feet high
- Fertilizer – Tomato fertilizers work well for chili pepper plants, as do compost and well-rotted manure. A good 5-10-10 fertilizer is usually sufficient for peppers.
- Pruning – Use your fingers or small scissor cutters when first pruning your pepper plant.
