PLANTING & CARE
- Temperature – Hardiness 35-40 degrees F. Extensive frost or subfreezing temperatures cause full leaf defoliation
- Water – Newly planted– Water the tree freely during the heat of spring through fall when the plant actively grows with new leaves and stem length.
- Light – Keep the plant in indirect bright light location for 2-3 days and then gradually move to a location that receives more than 6 hours of direct sunlight
- Fertilizer -Dig your whole twice the size of the root ball and add peat moss and compost to the fill dirt, adding a handful of slow release fertilizer.
- Pruning – When pruning for structure, remove branches that shoot straight up and leave those that have a wide crotch between the branch and the trunk
